Green Story, Inc. (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates and internet and mobile application based service (“Services”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of our Services

Who We Are

We are Green Story, Inc. We provide internet and mobile application based services for sustainability impact analytics and marketing.

Information We Collect

Green Story collects information to operate our business and provide you with innovative impact analytics and marketing solutions. We collect both Personal Data and Other Information in support of these efforts.

Generally, we do not consider Other Information to be Personal Data. Regardless, if we link together Other Information in a way that renders it individually identifiable, we will treat the combined information as Personal Data.

We collect Personal Data in the following ways:

  1. When you register with us, we collect registration details. When you set up a Green Story account, we will collect your name, username and password, email address, business address and postal code.
  2. When you post, upload, or import information and/or data to your Account, such information will be stored in our servers and your authorized users will be able to see it, along with any other information that you make available through your profile (“Profile”).
  3. You can invite users (up to the number permitted in your subscription) to access your Account by sending each invitee a URL. Such invitee will then be invited to create a sub-account under your Account (a “Sub-Account”) and we will collect information from such invitee necessary for the creation of the Sub Account, such as his or her first and last name, email address, password, and company name.
  4. When you use our social media apps, we may collect your account or profile information. Green Story social media apps are part of our widgets which are integrated in our partner websites. When you first access social media apps, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest etc, for example by clicking the Facebook sharing button on our widgets, you will be presented with a Facebook permissions page, which will advise you about Facebook information you will be sharing with our app. With your consent we may collect Personal Data from your Facebook profile that is permitted under Facebook’s Terms of Use, such as your email address, profile picture, and friend list. If you do not want to provide us with this information you will need to amend the privacy settings on your Social Networking Services account. For more information, please review the privacy disclosures and terms of your Social Networking Services account, which govern how that account information is collected and shared with us.
  5. When you sign-up for our newsletters or agree to be contacted for future updates we collect your name and email address.
  6. If you provide us feedback or contact us via e-mail, we will collect your name and e-mail address, as well as any other content included in the e-mail, in order to send you a reply
  7. When you participate in one of our surveys, we may collect additional personal information.

How We Use Personal Data


We may use your Personal Information to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that might pertain to your business.

We may use your Personal Data to respond to your requests for technical support, online services, product information or to any other communication you initiate. This includes accessing your account to address technical support requests.

For example, when corresponding with you via email, we may use “format sensing” technology, which allows pixel tags to let us know whether you received or opened our emails.

Green Story will only disclose your Personal Data with your knowledge and as stated in this Privacy Policy or as indicated at the time of collection. This includes disclosures that will enable us to fulfill our obligations to you, and allows us to manage our business operations. To Partners, Vendors, and Suppliers

We work with partners, vendors, distributors, and suppliers. In Community Forums 

Any information you post or disclose in our community forums (for example, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest) is public. We cannot control the use of information disclosed in community forums. Exercise caution when disclosing information in these public areas, and be careful what Personal Data you disclose and how you disclose it. Content posted in our community forums represents the views of the individuals who post that Content and such individuals bear sole and exclusive responsibility for the posting of that content. Green story does not necessarily endorse, support, verify, or agree with any content posted in our Community Forums.

Required by Law and Special Circumstances

We may be required, subject to applicable law, to disclose your Personal Data if: (i) it is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process (such as a court order, subpoena, search warrant, etc.) or other legal requirements of any governmental authority, (ii) such a disclosure would potentially mitigate our liability in an actual or potential lawsuit, (iii) it is necessary to protect our legal rights or property, or (iv) it is necessary to protect the legal rights or property or physical security of others, or for the prevention or detection of crime and such disclosure is lawful.

Green Story uses cookies and other data collection tools like web beacons to collect data that help us personalize your use of our websites, widgets and mobile applications. We also work with analytics companies that use various technologies including cookies to collect data about your use of the Services (such as pages visited your interactions with various components).

Web Beacons

Web beacons allow us to count visitors who have viewed content on websites or pages. In promotional e-mail messages and newsletters, web beacons allow us to count how many subscribers have read them. They also allow us to develop statistical information about the activities and features that most interest our users in order to provide more personalized content. We do not use web beacons to access your Personal Data without your consent.

 Third Party Websties

Our services may contain links to third party websites. When you click on a link to any other website or location, you will go to another site and another entity may collect information from you. We have no control over, do not review, and cannot be responsible for, these outside websites or their content. Please be aware that the terms of this Privacy Policy do not apply to these outside websites or content, or to any collection of data after you click on links to such outside websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of every website you visit. The links to third party websites or locations are for your convenience and do not signify our endorsement of such third parties or their products, content, or websites.


We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with Personal Data without parental consent, please contact us. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Data without parental consent, we will take steps to remove the information.

Green Story is committed to protecting the security of your Personal Data. We use a variety of industry-standard security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. While we use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We recommend that you take measures to protect yourself and your information, such as installing anti-virus software, closing browsers after use, keeping confidential your log-in credentials and passwords, and making sure that you regularly update software and apps you have downloaded to ensure you have enabled the latest security features on your devices.

Data Retention

Green Story will retain your Personal Data for as long as you maintain an Account or as needed to provide you the Services. We will also retain and use your Personal Data as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

How We Respond To Do Not Track Signals

We do not currently respond to “do not track” signals or other mechanisms that might enable consumers to opt out of tracking on our Site.

Information Choices and Changes

Our marketing emails tell you how to “opt-out.” If you opt out, we may still send you non-marketing emails. Non-marketing emails include emails about your accounts and our business dealings with you.
