Founded in 2018, PANGAIA is a direct-to-consumer brand and B2B company that has taken the world of sustainable fashion by storm. One of the fastest growing fashion companies in the world, PANGAIA uses material science innovation, design breakthroughs and cutting edge technology to create functional, sustainable products.
PANGAIA was seeking a sustainability partner to help them quantify the environmental impact of their sustainable innovation and make their products carbon neutral. They were also looking to add transparency and credibility to their sustainability claims through third party verified data.
At the same time, they wanted to enhance the user experience and make their sustainability data easily available and understood, no matter where or how their customers choose to shop.
PANGAIA chose to partner with Green Story as the platform meets all their needs, including a proven capability for a robust analysis using Life Cycle Assessment methodology for supply chains. The Green Story’s Know your Impact platform integrates into PANGAIA’s e-commerce website and sales channels to communicate the positive environmental impact along the customer purchase journey. Through Green Story’s carbon offset solution, Simplizero Ecommerce, PANGAIA is also able to offset the carbon footprint of their products, making them carbon neutral.

The Green Story onboarding and research team worked alongside PANGAIA’s team to prepare and gather the required supply chain data. The data is vetted, verified and augmented with secondary research from accredited 3rd parties
Our experts modeled the data to showcase the full environmental footprint of PANGAIA’s products, and provided comparisons which showed how each product’s environmental footprint differed from the average comparable product. The results are included in the final report.
The comparative impacts of each of these individual products in the ecommerce was then mapped by the Green Story team with PANGAIA. The visualization of these impacts was then seamlessly integrated via Green Story APIs and plug-ins into PANGAIA’s online shop.
To compensate for the unavoidable carbon emissions, Green Story went on to curate, buy and track projects that matched the supply chains and brand values of PANGAIA, through the Simplizero Ecommerce platform.
The Green Story team integrated the Simplizero Ecommerce plug-in into PANGAIA’s e-commerce website, for a seamless customer experience of PANGAIA’s sustainability.
Green Story also provides PANGAIA with ongoing support for assessing supply chain impacts, finding and tracking new offsetting projects and other support as needed.
- The overall impact of PANGAIA’s sourcing is shown to customers on a live counter on their sustainability page, driving home the true impact they are making as a collective.
- The Green Story team has designed each product page to showcase playful customized widgets that tell a story about each specific environmental impact on a per-product basis. For example, for the recycled fibers, the widget shows t-shirts diverted from landfills. For their organic fibers, we talk about square meters of land farmed without pesticides (image1);
- PANGAIA takes ownership of its unavoidable emissions and offsets them through projects that make an immediate impact on their supply chain whilst focusing their efforts on minimizing their impacts at the source (image 2).
